Airtel Vs Vodafone Idea: Here’s how the revised prepaid plans compare.
Telecom companies in India are in the process of hiking prices across their prepaid plans. All 3 major carriers Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea, have announced upcoming price hikes. From all these 3 carriers, Vodafone-Idea and Airtel have disclosed their revised prepaid tariffs, and Reliance Jio told our insider that it will also be increasing prices by 40%.
New prepaid plans from Vodafone-Idea and Airtel will come into effect from December 3. and Reliance Jio’s new plans will start from December 6.
Airtel and Vodafone-Idea have revised prices for prepaid plans with two days, 28 days, 85 days, and 365 days of validity. There is literally a Rs. 1 difference between prepaid plans from the two competing telcos, however Airtel is also bundling free subscriptions to Airtel Xstream and Wynk music with its plans.
Overall, subscribers will have to shell out up to 50% more on both networks compared to previous prepaid plans.

Airtel and Vodafone did not only increased the price of unlimited plans, they have also increased prices for their combo prepaid recharge plans.
Airtel’s combo recharges include plans for Rs. 49 and Rs. 79. Both come with 28 day validity. The Rs. 49 pack gets Rs. 38.52 talk-time and 100MB data, while the Rs. 79 pack brings Rs. 63.95 talk-time and 200MB data.
Vodafone offers Rs. 49 and Rs. 79 prepaid recharge combos with 28 days validity. The Rs. 49 plan from Vodafone-Idea provides Rs. 38 talk-time and 100MB data. The Rs. 79 Vodafone-Idea voucher gives Rs. 64 talk-time and 200MB of data.
