Instagram removes its likes count in few countries ‘to remove pressure’
Instagram started hiding likes in its app and they are still testing it and have hidden likes in Australia, Brazil and several other major markets on Thursday, Instagram is saying it wanted to ease pressure on Instagram users.
Facebook owned Instagram wont let he users in these six countries wont be seeing the number of likes on people’s post of other Instagram followers.
Mia Garlick policy director of Facebook Australia and New Zealand gave a statement. “We want Instagram to be a place where people feel comfortable expressing themselves,”
“We hope this test will remove the pressure of how many likes a post will receive, so you can focus on sharing the things you love.”
It was tested in Canada and now Australia, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Brazil and New Zealand are involved in the new trial.
Instagram told us that the hiding of likes of users is just a “test” and they never gave us a deadline when it would end.
Instagram has more than billion users world wide it is an app where users can share images and videos so that followers can like or comment on them.
The countries where Instagram is running its test users wont be seeing number is likes on the main image feed or permalink pages but the Instagram users will be able to see the number of likes in their own post they will have to go to another page.
So one day after your Instagram login you don’t see the like count don’t panic.
