OnePlus TV India Launch, Price, Specifications, How to buy and more
OnePlus is really close from launching its OLED TVs in India and the leaks surrounding its launch are picking up thick and fast. Last week CEO Pete Lau announced its name OnePlus TV, and similar to its approach with smartphones, OnePlus is now beginning to give away crumbs of information about its upcoming TV.
Tweet from OnePlus India confirms the first specifications of the OnePlus TV, its 55-inch QLED panel, might have a 4K resolution with support for HDR. but we even have some OnePlus TV rumoured specifications.
Whats is the difference between
QLED and OLED
QLED TV is a technology that is a used by Samsung, and it is short-form for quantum-dot LED screen. QLED panels are relying on LED back lighting, and the quality of that will have a good contrast ratio and high dynamic range (HDR). Simply put, QLED is definitely not the same as the similar sounding but very different OLED display tech. In an OLED display, individual pixels emits their own light, which then results in better local dimming and illumination of different parts of the screen, depending on the content being viewed at the time.
For the first time OnePlus has officially commented on any information about the OnePlus TV because of this announcement we are confirmed the existence of a 55-inch variant at least. That is not to say though that there wouldn’t be more screen sizes as well. The details which emerged earlier about the filings done by the company for the OnePlus TV also suggest a 43-inch screen size option, as well as a larger 75-inch version as well.
OnePlus will be launching its TVs in India first and the company’s also activated a ‘Notify Me’ page on Amazon. Clicking on the Notify Me button will subscribe you to OnePlus TV updates. You will have to log in to your Amazon account for the button to work. Needless to say that this means Amazon will be OnePlus’ exclusive online retails partners for its TVs.
OnePlus is expected to launch its QLED TVs in India on September 26, before the launch of the proposed OnePlus 7T Pro.
